First up was the 3rd round of the South African Engen National Championships that was held in Cape Town. Cape Town weather is notoriously unstable, and race dawned with a wet conditions that later changed to a dry conditions. A nightmare for drivers, mechanics and teams. Max RMC 10 July Zwartkops, 24 July Vereeniging
At the Northern Regions Kart Championships held at Zwartkops on 10 July 2010, it was another impressive Birel show. In the mini max category, Sheldon Van Der Linde looked like dominating all three heats until lady luck stepped intervened in the final, side-lining him with a technical breakdown. ROUND 2 S A NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS – IDUBE 3 JULY 2010-07-21
The Idube Kart Circuit hosted round 2 of the South African National Kart Championships for the ROK categories. Idube always produces amazing racing and round 2 proved to be no exception.For Birel drivers, it was a day of mixed fortunes. ZWARTKOPS ROK REGIONAL 17 APRIL 2010
The challenging Zwartkops Kart Circuit was host to round 2 of the Rok regional series which also caters for the Junior GP class and the most popular 125 GP class. Racing was once again excellent and Birel colours were once again dominant in all the classes. ( Read More)
1st round of SARMC Cape Town - Birel drivers impress
The impressive Cape Town karting circuit hosted round one of the Rotax max challenge national championship event. Birel drivers once again showed what they were made of by upsetting many of the favourite drivers in these categories.In the new Maxterino class, The Kart Shoppe team member Clinton Bezuidenhout showed some very good race craft to win the day. A good start to the season for all Birel pilots.

SOUTH AFRICAN NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP PORT ELIZABETH 19/20 MARCH 2010 - BIREL DRIVERS CONTINUE TO DOMINATE
In what can only be described as an excellent event, round 1 of the South African National Championship, proved to be a thrilling affair. The Rok classes seemed to have gained good momentum and are now showing very strong numbers both regionally and nationally. The draw card of the event was the Super Rok class with no less than 27 competitors taking to the track.

15TH WINTER CUP - LONATO, 19-21 FEBRUARY 2010 TOP FIRST SEASON APPEARANCE FOR BIREL-BMB SYNERGY
Birel pilots could have not done better at the 15th Winter Cup edition in Lonato, the international meeting for SKF, KF2 and KF3 classes, which opened the season last weekend. This well established early
internationalcircus competition, which is run by all KF classes top drivers, turned out to be even more interesting than usual, as it was the occasion for testing the recently homologated engines.

Following a very successful 2009, with five national championship titles to its name, The Kart Shoppe Racing team is set to continue with its formidable form in 2010. The basic principal behind the team is that The Kart Shoppe prepares and maintains its team member’s karts at its premises. VEREENIGING NATIONAL 9 JULY 2009
In what can only be described as a very level headed performance, Aston Hare claimed his second South African National Championship title by winning the Junior Rok class at Vereeniging over the last weekend. Driving his Head 2 Head Birel , Hare qualified second, finished first in heat one, had a mysterious breakdown in heat 2, and finished second in heat 3 to take the overall day and the championship honors.
